La Forza del Destino was unfortunately directed by Christof Loy, a man who can not let an opera speak for itself. The production was a halfway modernised with a new backstory that was totally backwards. The singing was glorious. but the directing made it less enjoyable. What a difference a production makes! I loved it last time I saw it at Covent Garden.
